Hello!
I'm a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, functional medicine practitioner and the owner of Eat Freely Nutrition. I've become well known for taking on difficult cases and figuring out the root cause of my client's health issues. Many of my clients not only see improvement in their symptoms but feel better than they have in years! I always use a whole-person approach to assess my clients, paired with the latest research and testing methods. Every client gets a tailored, personalized plan to change their diet and supplement regimen.
My Own Health Journey
As a teen I struggled with hormonal imbalances (PCOS), and migraines. By the time I was 15 I was wearing an estrogen patch! I went to several endocrinologists, and no one could figure out why my ovaries just weren't producing the hormones I needed. By the time I was 19, I was told I'd have trouble conceiving, if not completely infertile. About a year later, my life crossed paths with a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who happened to specialize in hormonal imbalances! After 9 months of working with her (diet changes, herbs & acupuncture), I was off all artificial hormones, had a normal cycle and had regained my fertility! I was so inspired by her work that I changed my major from Finance to Nutrition the very next semester. I knew at that point that I wanted to help people to the same depth and have a lasting impact on their lives.
Education and Experience
I obtained both my undergraduate and master's degree in Nutritional Science from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). I've worked in clinical settings, outpatient settings, and treatment centers. For seven years I was a full-time lecturer at CSULB, teaching nutrition courses to undergraduate students, all while growing my practice.
Finding
Functional Nutrition
After being a dietitian for 7 years, I realized I was hitting a roadblock with my ability to help people. I mean REALLY help people! I wanted to help people feel amazing, take away their IBS, headaches and fatigue. I wanted to be the ultimate "nutrition detective!" That's when I decided to get more education and training in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. I also started courses in herbal medicine for women. It was only after this extensive training and experience that I finally felt like I could truly help my clients reach a higher level of health and healing. Now I have the privilege and honor of helping people feel their best every day.
Personal
When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my family in Gilbert, Arizona. I'm a full-blown soccer mom on the weekends and a gymnastics mom in the evenings. I love cooking, organizing, interior design and dancing!
